Lightweight walls and partitions
Solutions
Lightweight walls and partitions
We build internal partitions and infill walls in reinforced concrete or steel-framed buildings with factory-cut Redblok lightweight concrete blocks. A lighter wall lowers the seismic mass carried by the frame and the load on the foundations.
Key points of this solution
- A lighter wall means a lower seismic mass in the TBDY 2018 analysis.
- The block cuts with a saw. Service chases need no special tools.
- Flat block faces allow a thin render coat.
| Block density band | 500 – 800 kg/m³ (design range) |
|---|---|
| Wall thickness | 100 – 300 mm (project specific) |
| Use | Non-loadbearing partitions and infill walls |
| Delivery | Cut and palletised blocks |
| Strength and thermal conductivity | Design target per class; confirmed by testing |
These values are for preliminary design. We confirm the block's density class and dimensions with project-specific calculation and laboratory testing.
